First, watch the video: The Zappos Family on Nightlight provided below and/or read the transcript and then provide an answer to all 3 (three) questions in short essay format. Each question will be marked out of 10. This assignment is a mandatory part of the assessment for this unit. Please make sure you read and follow the assignment 1 guidelines.

Questions

1: Making good use of relevant concepts and theories describe and discuss the Zappos organisational culture. In particular, consider how both formal and informal organisational components play out at Zappos. Base your answer to this question on Topic 1.
2: Using models of personality, attribution and perception describe and analyse what Zappos seeks in its employees. Would you like to work at Zappos? Explain how and why the Zappos culture would either sit well or not with you as an individual. Base your answer to this question on Topics 2 and 3.
3: In what ways does Zappos manage and maintain motivation and high performance in the workplace? What lessons could other organisations learn from Zappos? Could the Zappos model work in all organisations, and why or why not? Make sure you explain and illustrate your responses with particular reference to relevant concepts and theories. Base your answer to this question on Topics 4-6.
