Play Analysis: A Raisin In the Sun

You must have read the play called “A raisin in the sun” to write this analysis. These are the instructions given to me by my professor.

Complete a 4 to 6 page research essay in which you analyze “A Raisin In the Sun” using the following topic:
-Discuss the title of the play. How does it relate to the dreams of each of the characters in the play?
– the paper must have a creative title

In order to help better organize the research paper, it should follow this type of organization:
*Introduction
-state the authors full name
-state the works full title
-state what kind of work it is (a play)
-give a brief summary of the work
-present a clear and specific THESIS STATEMENT

*Body
-bring up examples relevant to your thesis
-introduce quotes from the story and outside sources
-explain all quotes and relevance to my topic
-make sure there is one topic sentence per paragraph that lets the reader know what the rest of the paragraph will be about
-dont forget transitions

*Conclusion
-restate the thesis using different words
-present final memorable remarks
-take discussion a step further

REMEMBER:
-essay must have original title
-essay must be in 3rd person
-do not use contradictions
-avoid overly casual language
