Political Science

In this homework assignment you will choose a research topic/hypothesis for your final research paper and search for relevant journal articles to help support your hypothesis. You may use one of the hypotheses that you proposed in a previous homework assignment, or you may choose a new one. Remember that your hypothesis must be one that can be tested using the class dataset.

You will also be committing to a research paper topic with this homework assignment. Any changes to your topic must be cleared with me in advance of future homework assignments (#5,6, and make-up) as well as in class exercises (#5,6). From this point forward you must save your graded homework assignments as they will become part of a ‘packet’ which will be turned in to me with your final paper.

Here is your assignment:

1. State your research hypothesis. Indicate the dependent variable and the independent variable for your hypothesis. Indicate the questions from the survey you will use to test your hypothesis [you can find this in Exercise #2]. Reminder: if you cannot find questions from the class survey that you can use to test your hypothesis, then you can’t test your hypothesis. {20 points}
