Validity and Reliability
Project description
Answer the two following questions in about 100-150 words each. Please use at least one source for each question. They can be the same or different sources, and need to be cited in APA format. No cover page or abstract needed. Please answer these questions in concise detail and separately. This should show graduate level writing.

Question 1
Re-creating a study by others from elsewhere and conducting a similar study using different methodology are two of a number of methods of triangulation. Assume you are the deputy director of a large urban school district. Your staff has just completed a study that indicates that the college grades earned by teachers correlate highly with student achievement. The study has great political implications because it could affect teacher selection policy to the advantage of some and disadvantage of others. More information is needed for the study to survive public scrutiny and the inevitable arguments surrounding changing teacher hiring policy. What method of triangulation might you use to do a second qualitative study to buttress (or refute) the findings of the first study? Why?

Question 2
Validity is much more difficult to establish than reliability in research data and findings. Is it always important to establish both reliability and validity of research data and findings in qualitative studies, or are there ever times when establishing one or the other would be sufficient? Why?
