QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

1. You are in a health services management position with responsibility for an ambulatory primary medical care clinic. Identify and briefly describe two approaches you might consider to evaluate and improve the quality of the care and services provided by your facility. Give the rationale for each of your choices. They may be intended to address any type(s) of problems you choose.
2. Compare and contrast traditional approaches to quality assessment in health care and public health using inspection and audit techniques with strategies based on process improvement methods.
3. Describe what you consider to be two of the major problems in health care in the United States and what you think we can do to address them.
