How can GSM London improve its quality of service to students?

Research method:
In order to answer this research question, you are to set the objective(s) and design a ‘questionnaire’ that will help you to ‘gather’ information relating to the research objective(s) and question

above. The objective(s) and design of the questionnaire should focus on one of the following themes:

1.    Learning and Teaching
2.    Library Resources
3.    Facilities
4.    Events
5.    Careers and Employability

The questionnaire can be administered online through tools such as Google Docs and Word-based Forms, or administered offline i.e. paper-based. You should collect at least 30 of these from your

fellow GSM London students (this can be campus-specific, although not mandatory).

You are then to present your results using appropriate charts and tabulations, and explain your statistics in a Microsoft Word report form (Please note you should only submit one report

document. All other documentation should be placed in the appendix).

Format:     You must present your work in a report format. The required structure of the report is outlined on the next page.

Copies of your questionnaire responses must be provided to your lecturer before the submission deadline. Failure to present your questionnaire responses will result in a 5% mark reduction.

The plan should have the following structure and content:

Introduction: provide a clear description of the purpose of your report, including two or three clear statements of what the design and implementation of the questionnaire sets out to achieve.

Methods: provide a brief overview of the questionnaire development; it should contain a detailed description of the steps in the development of the questionnaire; problems (issues) encountered

(identified) during the data collection and analysis process; and the results gained from using your method.

(30 marks)

Data presentation and analysis: using graphs and charts, present and analyse the results of your questionnaire. You are expected to utilise appropriate charts and tabulations that capture the

following data when presenting your findings:

•    Nominal
•    Ordinal
•    Interval and/or Ratio

You should then provide an analysis your findings. Here, you are expected to comment on the trends identified in relation to the research objective(s). In addition, your analysis is expected to

provide key statistics such as the centre (average) of at least one of your dataset (questions), as well as dispersions within the data set (if appropriate).

Note: In order to achieve the above, you must ensure that key questions in your questionnaire are designed to enable you to capture these data.
(30 marks)

Conclusion: provide a clear conclusion that clearly addresses the assessment task. Your conclusion should attempt to triangulate your objectives, research findings, and analysis. You should

provide at least five recommendations that are based on the outcome of your research. You must avoid using personal opinion within the conclusion.
(10 marks)

Referencing and Bibliography: must be Harvard.
(10 marks)

Appendix: should contain your questionnaire template, as well as relevant tables (such as Excel) used for your analysis.
