Reaction Paper

Reaction Paper

Project instructions:
A reaction paper is your interpretation or personal reaction to an event. Similar to your practicum journal, your reaction paper represents a personal reaction and reflection on an event not merely a descriptive analysis. As a result the language of the reaction paper may be informal and can be written in the first person.
While you may identify several areas that you may wish to discuss, identify one or two key points to develop (e.g., skill level, level of competition, motivation to participate, how inclusion was achieved) and support these points with a detailed description and interpretation of the event. The goal of the reaction paper is to provide the reader with an ability to understand or appreciate the elements involved in the event.
Instructions:

1. Two videos will be presented in class, ?Autism: The musical? and ?Murderball?. You may provide either an in-depth reaction to one of the videos, or you may choose to compare/contrast APA considerations between both videos ? the choice is yours.
2. Be ready to take notes during the video. Here are a few questions to help you prepare:
i. What are my opinions of this film? How did it make you feel? Were you surprised by anything? Disappointed? What modifications were made to enable inclusive APA? What did you learn?
ii. Write down 3 or 4 key impressions of the video.
3. Following the viewing of the video prepare a brief (maximum 750 words) reaction to your experience.
a. Your submission should include a clear introduction, reflections presented in the body of the text, and a concise summary.
b. Outstanding reflections will include supporting details from lecture notes and course readings. Be sure to cite supporting background information from the course notes or text as appropriate.
Note: Be sure to include a cover page (see APA 6th ed.).
