you are to discuss the reality television genre and determine whether reality television is a true representation of reality or is manufactured behind the scenes? in order to do this you will need to define what reality is and discuss whether current reality television programming supports your definition.
you need to refer to the generic structures used by producers and discuss how the following areas support or challenge your thesis:
characters: scripted
Scenarios:situations- competitions
audience: viewer participation’s

you will need to provide evidence from reality programs and other texts, including relevant quotations and reality television examples to support your statements and justify your opinions. you must include a minimum of two examples per argument

this is a multimodal seminar so it is expected to have videos as example to your ideas. one video per argument is recommended so copy and paste the links of the video and the starting and end time in your script

each argument should highlight these questions:
introduction:

•Greet your audience and introduce yourself formally:
•Outline what your definition of what reality is.
•Outline what you will prove or reveal today: (thesis statement).
•Overview of your 3 major arguments.

body of the 3 major arguments:

Explanation- Explain in detail your argument e.g. Editing

Examples to support argument 1: Discuss two reality programs. Discuss techniques used.

Evaluation- What are the consequences for society?
Concluding Sentence- Reinforce your thesis.

conclusion:

Briefly restate your main arguments that you have set out to prove.

Ensure that you emphasise why you have decided to speak up today!
