UNIT EIGHT INTRODUCTION
The Unit 8 Handout introduces the subject of sexuality in a healthy, biblical marriage. It
addresses the issue that the church has been, at times and perhaps unwittingly, an opponent to
marital sexuality by its strong stance against premarital sex. This occurs when ministers,
members, and parents simply talk negatively about sex without distinguishing between sexual
activity before marriage and the sexual relationship in marriage.

What God Has Joined Together expands on the subject by lifting up many of the excellent,
positive references in Scripture concerning the sexual relationship in marriage.
