Representative Money

These are the receipts of the government to offer some metal like gold or silver in lieu of paper notes. Example of Representative Money is gold or silver certificates issued by the government. In earlier times, the warehouses of gold and silver issued certificates which were a proof of debt. This is an example of representative money.
