Revolutions – your ‘self’, the world and the future

The question is:
1. PERSONAL – What revolution (cultural, political, physical, technological, religious or otherwise) has affected YOU (and/or your family) the most personally? Please describe this revolutionary event/series of events/idea, etc. and give some background (history) of how it came to affect you/your culture or family. Was it a gradual or sudden effect? Was it a welcomed or unwelcomed event/process? Is there another revolution on the rise that will soon affect you? (Describe as you like.)
2. GLOBAL – What, in your view, has been the most significant revolution (again, cultural, political or otherwise, as mentioned above) that has changed life on a global scale? If it is the same as the one you speak about above, tell me: has it affected ‘the world’ in the same way that it has affected you? What have been both the opportunities (positives) and challenges (negatives) created by this ‘revolution’? (Again, describe as you like – I’m giving you some ‘free reign’ here to discuss ideas that move you, as you like.)
3. FUTURE –What, in your view, is one important, global revolution ‘on the horizon’ right now, one that hasn’t happened yet but that you see coming in the future? This could be a revolution in awareness or thinking, and not just an ‘armed’ struggle of some kind. Describe what the signs are that this revolution is coming (sooner or later, it doesn’t matter). What do you think has created or fuelled this future revolution? Is it primarily positive or negative in nature? What would ‘the world’ be like if this revolution succeeded? (Again, I’m giving you some freedom to talk about the issues and ideas that are of interest to you. Make it interesting for YOURSELF, and then it will be interesting to ME!)
Also, I have done an outline on this essay already, so if you could follow the same outline, or write about similar topics, that would be great!
In my opinion, there are innumerable revolutions and revolutionary ideas that have shaped the world we live in today. However, the three most effective revolutions that has moulded me as a person, the world, and the near future are listed below:
Personal: The role of a ‘woman’ in my society has completely transformed in the recent years. Only a few decades ago, an ideal woman was one that got married, had kids, and took care of the household. However, the influence of the western society has completely reversed the role of a ‘woman’. In my culture, today’s woman is somewhat given the same equality as a man. They have the freedom to become independent; whilst marriage has become an option not a necessity. This revolution has had the biggest impact on me personally; as I now have the liberty to continue my studies, get a job, and become successful – just like any man would have.
Global: Undoubtedly, the industrial revolution has been the biggest and the most effective revolution till today. Even though, the industrial revolution has had both positive and negative impacts, it has molded the world, as we know today. Life is almost unimaginable if the world had not transitioned to the new manufacturing processes in the 1700s. From the clothes we wear, to the technology we use in our daily lives, the result of the industrial revolution is clearly visible.
Future: There are two different revolutionary ideas that are very interesting to me. The first is the research about stem cells. These cells are undifferentiated biological cells, which are achieved either from embryos or adult tissues. In the near future, research into stem cells could result in the regeneration of completely new organs for people with injuries or disorders. In fact, it could even be a cure for a lot of conditions, such as cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. This revolutionary research could change the lives of millions.
