ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVE/ OBJECTIVES:
This assignment is designed to assess the following:
a) the students’ ability to write a dissertation proposal
b) the students’ ability to make a presentation about their dissertation topic
ASSIGNMENT BRIEF/SCENARIO:
Write a 500 word dissertation proposal in the following format. Each section should answer the specified questions.
Topic: What will you study?
Objectives: What will you prove?
Research Methodology: How will you prove it? What types of evidence will you present?
In December all students must make an oral presentation on their dissertation proposal. In this presentation they must outline their topic, objectives, and research methodology to the teacher and the other students.
Tips for an effective presentation:
1. The students should practice their presentation in front of an audience before the presentation date.
2. When presenting their topic the student should not read from their notes but instead should try to make eye contact with the teacher and the other students. They should also use some gestures, and movement while talking.
3. The students should speak in a clear, understandable, and audible manner, so that the audience gets the most out of their presentation.
