Short blog reflective online report.
This task is designed to familiarise students with using on-line resourcesto research community and social action campaigns and
organisations,to learn about their use of modern technology and how it contributesto their specific action/s.
This task re quires students
to spend one hour each week researching an organisation, campaign or social movement involved in community or social action based on th
focus outlined for each week in the unit weekly schedule. (Which was History of Social Mov ements. What have we learnt from history? How
this relevant today?)
The student will post a brief report using the Blog tool on vUWS each week with details of the
organisation/campaign/movement and what they learned from researching it on-line. Blo gs must not exceed 250 words.
Students can use
whatever format they want fortheir blog – reflection, commentary with dot points, critique etc. However each blog will need to include
the following information:
1. Name of organisation/movement/camp aign. (From Australia)
2. Website, facebook, twitter links.
3. Brief
overview of what they do.
4. Link an aspectfrom the relevant set reading to what you have learnt in your research.
5. Critically reflect
on your views ofthe organisation/mov ement/campaigns’work and your learning from your research.
