Sociology

Sociology

Step #1 – Choose one social issue. There are plenty ( I MEAN PLENTY!) to choose from (poverty, racism, gay rights, environmental issues, war, media, social networking, religion…)

Step #2 – Develop a hypothesis (educated guess) about the social issue you have chosen. Be creative and don’t be afraid to think outside of the box!

Step #3 – Think of 5 interview questions related to your hypothesis. Remember – you want to think of interview questions that will try to answer your research question, but do not be too direct. Don’t pick questions that get off topic or have a “yes” or “no” answer.

Step #4 – Find a friend, family member, or stranger to interview. Ask them your five questions and take notes on their responses.

Step #5 – Write at least one paragraph about your research, the “data” you collected, and your results. Make sure to include your interview questions and the respondent’s responses. Did your interview questions answer your hypothesis?
