Assignment 1
Describe the three main steps of the technical writing process and how you would personally approach the creation of an instruction manual for an aquarium filter, digital camera, or for employees to use an in-house data entry system.
The goal is to include a citation for an outside source about the main technical writing processes and to explain where in the development of your manual these thought processes (steps) should occur and why they should occur.
Lesson 1 provides an introduction to the steps of the Technical Writing process. Start your work on this assignment by reading the week’s lesson. Additional information on the sbject can be found in class readings and / or through supplemental research in the AMU / APUS Library.
Kindly observe the following formatting and development guidelines in your assignment:
1. Format your text in double-spaced 10 – 12 point font;
2. Include your name, the class, my name, and the date in the upper left corner;
3. Use either MLA or APA citation to document research sources in the work;
4. Develop the assignment to demonstrate your understanding of the steps of the Technical Writing process and its significance in creating documents that are effective;
5. Develop the assignment to be between 800 and 1,200 words long;
6. Include citations to at least two outside sources to support your work; these sources can some from class materials or from articles available in the AMU / APUS Library.
