A five-page typewritten paper (Times New Roman 12 pt. font, double spaced, circa 1500 words) discussing/analyzing a single work of music (a piece, a song, etc). If it is a multi-movement work, only a single movement may be analyzed. This should be an original analysis that includes discussion of: form and structure, texture, melodic harmonic and rhythmic elements, historical perspective and cultural significance of the work, and (if it is a song) the relationship of the text to the music.
