The background and statistics of the sexual assault issue on campus

Background of the Problem

There are several factors that can contribute to the prevalence of sexual assault at universities. Our research will summarize risk factors, prior victimization, substance use, and dating violence history. In addition, we will identify post-assault auctions and consequences of sexual assault involved in reporting incidences and legal action taken.

We intend to analyze the University of Delaware’s compliance with the Clery Act’s sexual assault mandates. The sites of our statistical investigations were selected for similar sex ratios where women outnumber men at the universities. We will collect statistical data from the following universities: University of Delaware, Boston University, New York University, University of Maryland-Baltimore, and University of Pennsylvania.
