In Chapter 15, the beginning of the Civil War begins and so does President Lincolns stand toward free states in all states, not just the North.  The war created an

economic impact to the North and South that created huge debt and loss assets for each side.  At the midpoint of the Civil War time line, it was obvious an end needed

to come quick, but at whose cost.
Each student will research the following questions and answer with critical thought and articulation to spotlight the concerns the Civil War.  The completed assignment

will be printed and stapled by the student and handed in at the next class session. Should a student have any questions or concerns, please email or text the

Questions:
•    What convinced Lincoln to issue the Emancipation Proclamation?
•    What impact did the war have on the North’s economy?
•    What was Grants strategy for ending the war?
