Assessment:writing within your disciplinary context. This will allow you to demonstrate your understanding

of characteristics and features of writing, in particular academic writing. You will do original research and present this research in an appropriate academic form.

This

assignment must be handed in before the end of the term; you will receive feedback and may change your paper based on the feedback.

The assignment described below is a summary, and you will receive further guidance writing and in class.

COmpare an academic assignment that you have written with another student’s paper. This is easiest to do
if yOu campare assignments for the same task.
Analyse the text(s) for features of academic writing. How are they similar to other academic texts that you have read? How are they different?
Discuss how the text(s) are successful (or not) in addressing their audience and fulfilling their purposes.
Your paper should be 1500 words in length, plus or minus 10%. You must hand in photocopies of the texts
that you analyse along with your assignment.
You must hand in your assignment in Week 6. You will receive feedback on i L, bu L no war h. when you hand
it in for final assessment in Week 10, you must say how you addressed the feedback. You will receive a
final mark, but no further feedback on your assignment.
Two students can work together to analyse each other’s assignments and write a joint report. Each student must hand in a copy of the joint paper, and each student will
