1 Strategic environment: what are the key strategic issues affecting York and Seville as tourist destinations? What issues do they share and what are the key differences, and what does this tell you about the opportunities and threats that they face?

2 Compare and contrast the key objectives, priorities and investment plans for the two cities. What are the key similarities and differences and what do these tell you about the strengths, weaknesses of the two destinations?
3 How does the transport infrastructure facilitate and/or limit the development of tourism in York and Seville? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each and what would be your key proposals for investment?

4 Compare and contrast the governance of tourism in York and Seville. What are they key organisational structures and agencies, how do they differ between the two cities and which, in your view, provides the most useful model? Justify your answer.

5 What are they key attraction factors in York and Seville? What are their similarities and differences and can you identify any areas of unfulfilled potential or under-utilised space?
6 What is your assessment of visitor numbers, generating regions and visitor profiles in relation to the two cities? Which are their strongest markets and which segments offer opportunities for development and growth?
7 Cultural tourism and heritage are often regarded as important drivers for new premium-based tourism developments. Compare and contrast the approaches to cultural tourism in the two cities. What are your conclusions?
8 The Chief Executive is particularly concerned about value for money and service quality in the hospitality sector (accommodation and non-accommodation). How is the sector organised in the two cities, who are the major players and how would you assess their relative merits?
