You are to determine which argument you MOST agree with by answering the question, “Were the colonists justified in declaring independence from England?”
In a well written 2-3 page( estimated 700 words) essay explain your decision. This will be similar to responding “yes, they were justified” or “no, they were not justified”. Be sure to provide SPECIFIC examples of actual events that influenced your decision (do not just say “taxes”…. Which ones? Why? How? etc…)
Your essay must contain the following 3 components:
1. Reference 3 direct quotes from one of the above documents that support your answer. Please use italicsto show quotes.
2. Provide 2 quotes from different key figures who also supported your opinion (they would have lived during the revolutionary period). It cannot be Dickinson or Jefferson!
3. Cite ALL additional resources consulted in your research.
