3. A brief explanation of the philosophical theme.
4. The remainder of the paper should include the following:
a. Identify key moments either in the storyline, characters (including their motivations), or themes that illustrate the philosophical claim or theory.
b. Use specific examples from the film to illustrate your points and bolster the claims.
5. Assess whether or not you think the film is a salient example of the philosophical theme under consideration.

1. Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy
2. Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy
3. Any scholarly article (also includes publications such as The New York Times, Time, Newsweek, The Economist, etc.)
You could also cite an article on the film or a written or video interview with the director, actors in the film, etc. and/or your textbook.
Again, properly cite these sources. Paraphrase and put direct quotes in parentheses and always give the page number if available.

1. 3 typed pages (Times New Roman Font, 12 point, one-inch margins, double-spaced)
2. Use the following four subheadings in the body of your paper:

c. FILM ANALYSIS
d. SUMMARY
3. Citing your sources: cite your source by using the author’s last name and page numbers whether or not you are paraphrasing or quoting the material directly.
4. Include a “Works Cited” or “References” page.
5. Use MLA or APA guidelines.
6. Submit in hard copy and stapled. No emailed papers will be accepted.
