WritingTechnical Instructions

The instructor will supply you with three files with picture instructions (from the IKEA Company) for a bookcase, a box, and a mirror, respectively.
Choose ONE of the three to work with. For this project you are required to write the corresponding assembly instructions inEnglish explaining the tools and parts required and how to put together the piece of furniture you selected.
Table 1 shows a glossary of IKEA parts. At this point, you can work collaboratively with your classmates in the Discussion Board to find the best description (not translation) in case you don’t know what they are.

1. Write a title for your instructions. It must be clear enough to inform readers what the document is about.

2. Describe the target audience for these instructions and how they will address the needs of this audience (write 1-2 paragraphs). Have in mind that your finished document with the instructions should be designed for the audience you describe here.
3. Write the instructions in English, adhering to the following guidelines

• Work individually on your translation.
• Make sure you also include warnings or safety instructions, if applicable.
• Focus on transmitting the ideas in a natural way.
• Apply the concepts and skills discussed in the Unit 6 Study Guide.
• The instructions should make reference to the pictures and its corresponding identification letters or numbers.
• Submit your work as editable text in MS WORD. Do not use ‘Word Textboxes’, instead, if necessary, use a layout based on ‘Word Tables’.

4. Write a 2-paragraph reflection on the process you followed in steps 1-3, detailing any insights about your learning experience.

5. Submit all the work for steps 1-4 in one single Word document.
