Select an article from the Internet, a newspaper, or a journal — your choice — on a macroeconomic fundamental topic that you have learned to date. For example, a newspaper article on the recent unemployment rate, inflation rate, or GDP level. The article can be from any source and of any length. Please note that you are not allowed to use any of the article readings found within the course modules as your selected article.
Write a two to three page paper on the article, using the following specific headings, in either APA or MLA format (as denoted below in the Guidelines For Completing Your Assignment). The title page and reference page are not included in the page count for the paper.
Title Page
Heading 1 — Introduction
Identify the article you have selected
Identify the macroeconomic fundamental topic that the article focuses on
If the article focuses on more than one macroeconomic fundamental topic, simply identify the topic that your paper will focus on
Heading 2 — Paper Summary
Summarize the primary purpose of the article
Identify the main points, within the article, that support the primary purpose
Do you support the paper’s conclusions or points, why or why not
Heading 3 — Connection to Course Content
Identify the course concepts that helped you understand the article
Explain how the course content helped you understand the article
Reference Page
As per APA or MLA format
Directly reference the article and course material in your discussion — in APA or MLA format. You are only asked to reference the article given in your paper; you are not asked to reference other articles in your paper.
Please note that there is no right or wrong answer to this assignment – what is important is the analytical thought process that you use, how well you express those thoughts, and how well you understood and were able to apply course learnings.
Use Times New Roman, 12 point font, double-spacing, and standard margins. Include a cover page, denoting the assignment number, course, student name, and student ID. The assignment is to be written in full, complete sentences — bullet points will be not accepted. The document is to comply with either an MLA style format or APA style format — the student has the choice of levering either format. References to the article are to be cited according to the document format style selected. All cited references are to be from the article — no additional readings are required to support this assignment.
Documents over five pages will be penalized. The first page is your title page. The body of your paper may be no more than three pages in length. The final page of your paper is the reference page. Assignments greater than five pages in length, not including the title page, will receive a 50% score reduction.
