Consumer Behavior Group Project Overview

Submission Dates: 11thOct(Survey Entries) &25thNov(Report)

• This project will account for 20% of the final grade.

Submission of all completed Survey Entries

• Each groupmember is required to invite a minimum of 10 participants to participate. Therefore, depending on your group size you should have at least 30 or 40 complete surveys. Please note that in order to count, they must be complete.
• Each group will be assigned to an URL/website for this online survey. The participants must use this URL/website. The details will be provided inBlackboard.
• This task is to be completed by11thOct, 12pm (noontime).
• Failure to do so will result in a 50% deduction from your final report grade.

Submission of Completed Written Report
• Each group is required to upload a softcopy of the written report to www.turnitin.com(Folder: Individual Project) by24thNovbefore 5pm. A hard copy should be brought to class that day.

• Submission of your written report to the instructor’s email account is INVALID and will not be accepted or graded.

• All late submissions will be penalized with a grade of zero.

• For your written report, it is REQUIRED that you must reference at least 10 JOURNALS/ARTICLES to show support for your claims and arguments.

• Please note that Wikipedia is not acceptable as a reference for this project.

• Use the referencing style from Harvard Business School. See Blackboard (Folder: Content Area) for details.

• Your written report should be concise, clearly argued, typed, printed in Times New Roman (12 point) font, line spacing of 1.5 with a minimum of 3000 words, excluding appendices, references, and tables.

• The criteria to grade your written report and presentation will be based on a scale of 1 (very poor) to 10 (very good) as shown:

Written Portion of the Project

? Section 1– Introduction(at least 1 page)
o Each group will need to define the purpose and objective of this project.
The purpose relates to determining consumer involvement with environmentally friendly products.
Explain briefly the reason(s) why this is important in the context of Consumer Behavior (CB).
o You may have to write a simple sentence that links to the following section on how and why your purpose is related to the current field of CB

? Section 2 – The Literature Review (at least 2.5 pages)
o Each group will need to gather at least 10 academic articles (journal articles) about CB or Psychology. These articles will expose and demonstrate either a phenomenon in CB research or one that can be applied to CB. You are to use the Library resources.
o These are the areas which you can research on:
? Product Involvement
? Purchase Involvement
? Brand Involvement
? Product class involvement
? Environmentally friendly products
? Green purchasing behavior
? Social influences in purchasing behavior
? Environmental product knowledge
? Environmental values
? Involvement – consumer behavior, advertising, product, category, consumption decisions
? Scale development
o You are expected to briefly explain and define the abovementioned variables in relation to the purpose of your project.

? Section 3 – The Research Design of this Project (at least 1 page)
o How is this project being developed? (conducting a survey)
o Who will be involved in the sample? Where and how are you going to gather those inputs from the sample? When will the survey be conducted?
o You might indicate in general terms the theoretical approach or perspective you will be using and why
NOTE: Each team will gather 30 surveys using the standardized survey questions provided.
Do not attempt to use the same person twice to complete the survey.
Do not make up responses. Doing either of these things in research is unethical and dishonest. If you are caught doing this, you will receive an F for the project.

? Section 4 – The Findings(at least 6 pages which does not include the tables and diagrams)
o Based on your finding from your survey, you are expected to evaluate and analyze the data with the relevant statistical tools.
o This section should be written to describe the findings from the survey.Including other ways of visually demonstrating the results would greatly add to the project.
o Ensure all diagrams and tables are placed as Appendices. They are not to be included in the main report.
o Before ending this section, you will need to explain your interpretation of the findings.

? Section 5 – Applications & Conclusion(at least 1.5 pages)
o The final portion of the written report will explorehow the findings would/couldbe applied by marketers.
? To get you started, you may explain how marketers could use this in positive and negative ways.
o This section is also where youlook around at what is currently being done in marketing. Are you able to relate your applications to the present status of marketing in your environment?
