Definition of Nairu

NAIRU stands for Non Accelerating Inflation Rate of Unemployment. It is the rate of unemployment that is required to keep the inflation rate constant.
The Natural rate is unemployment is also called as Non-Accelerating Inflation Rate of Unemployment because once the economy reaches the natural rate of unemployment, the inflation rate is constant.
