The food industry has been, and continues to be, intentionally processing whole crops and butchered animal products into ingredients, recipes, and food items that are high in sugar, fat, and salt and, ultimately, manipulating consumers into eating more and more of these foods. To what extent does the food industry take responsibility for or deny such claims? To what extent should the food industry be held responsible for the obesity epidemic? To what extent should the industry be legally allowed to continue to develop such ingredients, recipes, and food items?
