Political Science_The Houston Area Survey

This is an effort that has now completed more than 26 years of systematic survey research, conducted in the early spring of every year since 1982. Prof. Stephen Klineberg, of the Department of Sociology at Rice University, leads the effort. These surveys can help you with your future research needs, including writing assignments for this course. You should visit the survey web site (at www.houstonareasurvey.org) to get a full picture of the research program. There you can download pdf copies of prior published report, summaries of central findings, PowerPoint presentations that contain several important charts on the three generations of Latino immigrants (on differences in educational attainment by country of origin, etc.), and other valuable research resources.
