At one point, the United States was clearly a super power in the international arena, but over time it can be argued that our influence has diminished. Do you feel that increasing the role and power of the federal government in our country would expand our influence on the world stage?

As the country recently wrapped-up the 2016 presidential election, many of the issues that constituents were concerned with (i.e. economy, education, national defense, etc.) seemed to be at the forefront of the presidential debates, as well as the media coverage. One issue that was not addressed as often as it could have been was how a potential leader of the federal government would plan to ensure that effective intergovernmental relations occurs with state and local governments. Do you feel that this issue should have been covered more and is something that leaders of our country need to be more accountable for?
