Research Project
Please write a research about HR Recruitment and Selection. The research process should involve: a) Project and topic definition, b) Literature Review, and c) Written research proposal.
Note: All the assignment should be in the same document. You just need to write the titles e.g. Assignment 1, Assignment 2 etc. by following the guidelines.

Students will present first draft of their work: a 7 page paper reflecting the research and methodology noted above and including the student’s own analysis (as the main paper) with
documentation and notes and citations to support the arguments or which are useful reading on given segments of the analysis. (7 pages)
6 Assignment 6
Student submits final research paper – and, as a separate document, a two page (2 pages) commentary on the learning experience: obstacles, what the research experience taught?
Lessons derived? Methods derived? Derivatives of the research-writing experience? Commentary, discussion, evaluation.
A 10 pages final paper in which you treat the topic you have outlined in sections 1-5 above.
Research Guidelines
The research proposal (Recruitment and Selection) should follow with an introduction section describing the background of your research topic. You should then include your research plans. Be
as specific as possible. You should include references.
The written proposal should be brief, probably not more than ten pages long.
The proposal should be prepared in sections as follows.
To describe the significance of a study means to defend it, that is, describe how it might contribute to the appropriate field. Significance includes overall objectives of the area of research.
The research plan should describe the problem in some detail, including the model, how the research will be conducted, numbers of replicate samples if applicable, how data will be collected and
analyzed, etc. Methods are the details of specific procedures.
The first part of your research (draft) will consist of a literature survey on the topic
The summary should be a one paragraph abstract that very briefly describes the overall goals and specific objectives of the study and how the study will accomplish its objectives. It should be
relatively nontechnical.
Have in mind that the major focus of the research project course is to be determined If you intend to collect and analyze human original data, you MUST complete a Human Subjects Review
process FIRST.
Applied research project
If you decide to do a project related to a determined organization the outcomes of your research should have applied implications. FOR EXAMPLE: You decide that a project consist in
researching recycled plastic use. Because of this topic choice, you decide an organization is going to be called County Plastic Reused (CPR). You must identify each CPR employees with titles.
Your operating/overall budget is $1.5 million for FY 06/07. Your budget for this research proposal is $250,000. Your goal is to require each new product development within CPR to use recycled
plastic for saving production costs and improving earnings.
Your organization will have a name, purpose/mission statement, staff, budget, goals, performance measures and population served. You may locate this organization anywhere in the world and
address any topic you choose. You may be a government entity or a non-profit organization, small or big, local or global. You choose. The organization you choose may or may not be an actual
existing entity. Real organizations can offer tangible problems to research and existing budgets.
• Describe your organization. Provide as much detail as you can.
• Introductory section with a problem/issue description and a
background of the setting. You may want to discuss how unique the problem is and how similar or dissimilar it is to other problems/issues. Be sure to cover what kinds of assumptions and
theories you are using when you design this research proposal. You should also state your hypothesis, research question and spatial-temporal domain here.
• Methodology section including a description of your strategy for data collection and the unit of analysis. You will also need to explain how you will operationalize the variables.
• Theoretical framework. Identify the mode of inquiry used and paradigm or philosophy employed. Present your assumptions as a researcher out right. Explain your role in the research.
• Planning section. Outline timeframes and budget and address the feasibility of the project including potential obstacles or challenges and how you plan to deal with them.
Draft research proposal
• Include everything from the first draft with all necessary corrections or updates made.
• List specifics issues about organization, entity or situation.
• Detailed budget (multiple line item) for the research project and a grand total/overall budget (one line) for your organization.
• Begin to think about some of the policy implications of your research and findings.
• List potential impacts (direct and indirect) on population studied. This will eventually help you in the Human Subjects Review process.
• Bibliography. List books, documents, periodicals, people and other resources for information that you would use for your research. This should include at least 5 academic references from
the field of study or a related field to your concentration area.
Final Research proposal
• Develop a full research proposal. Expand the draft proposal format to include a literature review and a discussion of feasibility, validity, reliability and ethics in the methodology section.
Cover the potential policy impacts of your research and who are the potential audiences for the research. The final research proposal is one paper to be turned in as a project.
Assignments 5 – Guidelines

Assignment 5 is to include a 7 page double-spaced narrative in which the student responds to the following questions.
These are NOT Research questions and are based on the experience of preparing a research proposal (or paper).
Directions (Assignment 5):
Respond in narrative form to each of the following questions.
1.) How did you formulate a research topic and determine that this would be the area of your focus?
2.) In what ways do you link the topic of your thesis to your program in which you are enrolled?
3.) Discuss the process of the research and data search to support your thesis? What processes did you follow? How did you choose the appropriate sources and eliminate others? What
difficulties did the research process entail?
4.) Every good paper or thesis is fundamentally analysis provided by the author supported by enough research to show knowledge of the field and its literature. How do you understand this
mixture or combination, without which, a paper cannot stand.
5.) What obstacles did you encounter in producing your proposal or thesis?
6.) What experiences have you derived from this challenging exercise?
