Research the cases, the stakeholders, the communication issues in the local (and broader) stakeholder environments that the problem contained in the case will affect.
Critique how the affected organisation handled the problem and support your argument with the appropriate theory. You should include a reference list for any textbooks, websites or other references you use to prepare your answers including news items.
You are required to:
1. Analyse the stakeholders and the organisation’s relationships with the stakeholders
2. Analyse the communication issue and how stakeholders may be affected by the issue raised. Articulate the problem or opportunity presented.
3. Conduct an organisational communications review
4. Apply stakeholder ‘Listening’ techniques and methods to identify the stakeholder needs, expectations, knowledge, attitude towards organisation and behaviour.
5. Critique the PR actions of the organisation and comment on whether any other more effective actions were left out.
6. Identify the long term principles and ethics underlying public relations decisions made in this case and their implications for ongoing stakeholder relationships.
7. Comment on the state of the organisation’s reputation before and after the problem or opportunity presented itself.
