Assignment: Global Trade Strategy for a Selected Company
Guideline word count: 1000-1500 (excluding references and appendices (but there is no penalty for exceeding this word count)

Using one company or industry with which you are familiar, propose objectives and strategies to improve global trade distribution activities, along with marketing mix for one product or service. Place some emphasis on two or three module topics and ensure that your work brings out the fact that this is a globally trading company or industry.

Background

You have selected and started work collecting information about one company that is involved in global trade distribution.

This assignment is an individual piece of work covering the topics covered so far in the course and building on your material collected to date.

Expectations:
This module is about global trade distribution. Credit will be given for drawing out issues covered in the module lectures illustrated by your company. You should include a number of references to relevant books, journals, or other sources set out using a name-date (some people call that Harvard) style of referencing and citing. The assignment should demonstrate some of your critical and analytical thinking, along with application of academic material to your practical cases. Keep in mind that this essay, along with your examination, is used to assess your achievement of the module intended learning outcomes and Level Descriptors for your level of work, which is Level 5.

Start by setting out briefly, your choice of company. Then continue with critical and analytical discussion of the topics discussed in this module as applied to the company, along with suggested objectives and strategies (with reasons).

NOTE: The deadline for handing in the FINAL submission is 24th April 2016. You should also hand in a PRELIMINARY version of your assignment by 8th April 2016. That preliminary version will be used to give you feedback, following which you may submit your FINAL version either in its original form, or amended if you wish. Seminar sessions will be used for short one-to-one feedback sessions. The PRELIMINARY version is for formative assessment, and the FINAL version is for summative assessment.
