INTRODUCTION AND ALIGNMENT
This discussion is intended to facilitate examination of the scriptures, and foster a look at biblical examples of effective delivery. The goal of this discussion is to learn delivery techniques from those in scripture who preached the Good News.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Again, scripture is our model for good gospel communication. There are a host of those who have shown us good technique:
Moses before pharaoh
Elijah before Ahab
The prophets before Israel, pagan audiences, and kings
Jesus in the temple
Paul on Mars Hill in Athens
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Take your Bible and find a quiet place of reflection.
2. Surf through the scriptures, looking for examples of those who have modeled the conveyance of some God given message to a person, or group.
3. For your initial post, discuss:
a. What do you notice about how they delivered the message?
b. What did you notice about the verbiage they used?
c. What does the text say, if anything, about their posture? Were they standing or sitting?
d. What did the speaker do to create rapport or identify with the audience?
e. What does the text say about the reaction of their audience?
f. If the audience reacted well, does that mean the communication was good?
g. If they reacted poorly, does that mean the communicator failed in some way?
h. Whatever else you feel germane in the discussion entitled “A Biblical definition of effective delivery.”
