To be good consumer of research
The purpose is for you to a) learn skills to critically analyze research articles in the field and b) based on those skills, to describe the process of how you decide what research is applied to your clinical practice.
-Identify a specific population/disorder/issue that you are interested in working with in treatment. Some examples include: college men, eating disorders, family of origin issues.
-Write a reflective analysis of the literature in that area. You will be required to integrate content knowledge from various sources and produce a cohesive, organized paper.
-Some questions for you to answer in your paper:
•When determining the best course of treatment, what sources of research would you use and why?
•What sources of research would you not use and why?
•What makes a research article or a research project credible? You should explain reasons why you consider the sources to be credible.
•How would you apply the “good” research to my clinical work?
Your paper should include at least 15 references, including examples of what you consider to be both “good” and “bad” research articles. Your
