Transformative multicultural reform

Transformative multicultural reform

Order Description

Transformative multicultural reform is reform that alters an institution’s structures, policies, culture, or practices. The readings for Module 9 present three

different models or frameworks for transformative multicultural reform. The handout summarizes the dimensions within each module (handout was provided in class and can

be found in the handouts folder). Consider the multiple dimensions of each of these different frameworks for transformative multicultural reform. While 2 of these

models focus on educational settings, many of the dimensions of each of those 2 models can transfer to other organizations and institutions as well. The MCOD model

addresses organizations and institutions more broadly.
1) which of the dimensionsacross the 3 models do you think are most critical to apply within your professional setting and why? (you can pick different dimensions from

different models, you don’t have to stick to a single model).
2) How would bringing those dimensions of reform to your professional setting lead to transformative reform (and not solely a superficial shift in your setting)?
3) What dimensions might be missing from these frameworks that you believe to be critical to multicultural reform in your own professional setting?
