Presentations
This semester we will be focusing on summary since it’s a very important part your future academic writing. You are required to find an article that is interesting to you, and summarize it to present your classmates.
Rules for the presentation:
1) The article/summary must be shown to me sometime before the day of presentation (written).
2) The student can read their summary from in front of the room. If the student can speak about the summary without reading from their paper, that would be even better.
3) Video or photo is not encouraged in your presentation, but if you believe it will help your summary then please ask permission first.
4) If you are not confident with your pronunciation, you can project your written summary onto the board from the computer.
5) Follow the rules of summary. Your opinion should not be in the summary.
6) Have fun with this! Pick an article that interest you. If you want to talk about an issue from your home country (as long as the article is in English) that is fine.
7) Remember this is not a research project. I don’t want other sources from the internet or Wikipedia included. This is strictly a summary of 1 article.
8) End the presentation with a question from the class that can create a discussion.
